Riders add Murray to
roster
Leicester Riders Head
Coach Karl Brown has
signed former Birmingham
Bullets' guard Ervin
Murray to his roster.
The
6'5" American has
received clearance in
time to play against
Thames Valley Tigers at
Bracknell Sports Centre
this evening (8.00pm).
"I'm
delighted to have Ervin
on board," said Brown.
"I think he will give us
a bit more leadership
and he can offer us some
extra offence as well.
He's performed well
wherever he has played
and had a great career
at Wake Forrest
University in America.
I'm looking forward to
seeing him in a Riders
vest."
Murray's first game in
the BBL was at John
Sandford Sports Centre
when his 13 assists
helped the Bullets to a
one-point win on the
opening day of the
season.
Before being released by
the Bullets last week
for positional reasons,
Murray averaged 15.43
points and 6.57 rebounds
per game whilst also
being ranked second in
the BBL in assists with
a 6.86 average.
In a
related move, Riders
have released Nathan
Anderson from the
roster.
"I'd
like to thank Nate for
what he's done for us
this season. He's a
quality person and I
wish him well for the
future, but I just felt
this was the right move
for the club," said
Brown.
Murray will make his
home debut for the
Riders tomorrow night at
the John Sandford Sports
Centre when the take on
the defending champions
TCS Chester Jets in the
BBL Trophy.
