The British
Basketball League season comprises four
competitions, with all BBL clubs
competing for the coveted silverware in
the BBL Championship, BBL Championship
Playoffs, BBL Cup, and BBL Trophy.
The mainstay of the basketball season is
the BBL Championship league competition,
the winner of which can truly declare
themselves as Britain's top basketball
team and earn a passage into the ULEB
Cup. The top eight teams progress to the
post-season playoffs, the grand showdown
that culminates in the BBL Finals
Weekend. The BBL season finishes with
the showpiece weekend that sees the
playoff winners crowned.
The peripheral competitions are the BBL
Cup and the BBL Trophy. The BBL Cup is a
knockout competition with the final on
Sunday 13th January 2008. The BBL Trophy
begins in four groups, with the top team
from each group progressing to the
knockout semi-final stage for a place in
the BBL Trophy Final on 2nd March. |
